Relationship between the activity of plasma dopamine-beta-hydroxylase and the duration of diabetes mellitus.

چکیده
Plasma DBH activity was studied in a group of 50 normal individuals, a group of 53 diabetics diagno sed less than 2 years ago (01) and a group of 49 diabetics diagnosed more than 10 years ago (02). The enzyme activity was significantly different in the 2 groups, 01 having the lower activity and G2 the highest. We interpret our results accepting that in G1 the damage of noradrenergic terminals allows less DBH to be liberated to the blood, whereas in 02 DBH reuptake by damaged sympathetic nerves is the predominant lesion, having as a result a prolonged persistence of the enzyme in the plasma.

Hypercalciuria, Hyperphosphaturia and Growth Retardation in Children with Diabetes Mellitus
Background: Previous studies have demonstrated that patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) have a high prevalence of osteopenia. Hypercalciuria has also been well documented in human diabetes and many children with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus have short stature. Objective: To investigate the relationship of hypercalciuria and hyperphosphaturia with growth retardation ...

Introduction: Disruption of the sleep cycle can disrupt the activity of the hormonal rhythms. Given that diabetes mellitus (DM) is the most common endocrine disease, and few studies have been conducted to investigate its relationship with sleep quality, the present study aimed to investigate the relationship between sleep disorders and diabetes mellitus. Methods: The present study was a descri...
متن کاملShort Communication Effect of Imipramine Treatment on Plasma Dopamine Beta-hydroxylase Activity in Chronic Mild Stress in Rats
Dopamine -hydroxylase (DBH) which catalyzes conversion of dopamine into noradrenaline, may be a good blood marker of unipolar depression. Therefore, we studied the effect of classic antidepressant drug imipramine (10 mg/kg ip) on activity of this enzyme in plasma of rats subjected to chronic mild stress (CMS), the model of anhedonia. CMS induced reductions in DBH activity by the second day and ...

Objective: In patients with diabetes mellitus, increased rate of lipoprotein oxidation and oxidative stress have important role in diabetic angiopathy, including nephropathy. We designed a study for comparing the level of Ox-LDL in diabetic patients with Macro-albuminuria, Micro-albuminuria, versus Normo-albuminuric. Materials and Methods: One hundred and thirty five patients with type 2 dia...
